Mansfield, TX — July 8, 2021 — Gamma Aerospace announced today that the Rapid Anodizing facility (a wholly owned Company subsidiary) in Los Angeles, California, has achieved Nadcap (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) certification for Non-Destructive Testing, Chemical Processing and Paint.
Headquartered in Mansfield, Texas, Gamma Aerospace is a specialized, end-to-end provider of engineered airframe and flight components for leading original equipment manufacturers and Tier I suppliers in the aerospace and defense industries. Gamma centers of operational excellence in North America manufacture a diverse offering of products and services that solve the most complex customer challenges. Nadcap is an industry-managed approach to conformity assessment that brings together technical experts to establish requirements for certification, accredit suppliers and define operational program requirements. The result is a standardized approach to quality assurance and a reduction in redundant auditing throughout the aerospace industry.
Acquiring Nadcap certification at the Rapid Anodizing facility involved a rigorous audit process conducted by the Performance Review Institute that evaluates organizational processes and regulatory requirements. These quality requirements, in turn, are crucial to aerospace OEMs, which maintain high levels of liability for their products. In addition, as a result of this certification, as well as past NADCAP audit successes, Rapid Anodizing now holds Nadcap Merit Certificates in both Chemical Processing and Non-Destructive Testing. The operation’s scope of Nadcap approvals includes NDT testing; Paint and Dry Film Lubricant; Type II and Type III Anodizing; Conversion Coating on aluminum; and Passivation and Surface Preparation of stainless steel.
“Attaining Nadcap accreditation at Rapid Anodizing is both a rigorous process and a tremendous achievement, and I am proud of the Gamma and Rapid Anodizing teams for their hard work. Securing this certification further illustrates our Company’s commitment to continuous improvement, underscoring that our customers can be confident that our products and services meet the highest level of quality in the industry,” said Thomas C. Hutton, Chief Executive Officer of Gamma Aerospace. “Rapid Anodizing, along with the special processing facility at the Gamma Aerospace site in Mansfield, TX, are key to the value proposition we offer as a total solutions provider—offering industry-leading turn times and unmatched flexibility while meeting and exceeding the aerostructures needs and expectations of our customers.”
The Nadcap accreditation at Rapid Anodizing comes on the heels of the Company’s recent announcement of the completion of capital investments at its Mansfield and Rapid Anodizing operations, which funded expansion into a range of advanced, in-house special processing capabilities that include anodizing, priming/painting, chemical conversion coating and fluorescent penetrant inspection.
